Clear aligners and tooth-colored braces have radically improved the orthodontic experience for patients who don’t want to announce their treatment to the world. But there’s an even more discreet alternative thanks to behind the teeth braces in Greeley.
Like our KLOwen custom braces, our lingual braces system uses brackets and wires to move your teeth, but they’re bonded to the back of your teeth and completely hidden away. The word “lingual” means near the tongue. With lingual braces, you can:Traditional Braces Hidden From Sight Read Transcript
Braces on the backside, we call them lingual braces. The concept’s been around since the '70s, and there have been some real challenges with it. It's very uncomfortable to the tongue, and newer technology has made the profile, the bracket slot, a lot narrower, smaller. And the benefit is that we only have two or three wires that we use. So when we put the Inbrace – or the lingual braces – on, we see the patient probably every six weeks. But we don't change the wire until five months, and then we put a second wire. And so the real benefit of Inbrace is that it doesn't require compliance, where aligners do require that compliance, but you don't see them. And today that's a big benefit. Most patients say ... &qout;Do you want braces on the outside? Do you want aligners, or do you want to not see your braces?&qout; Most people choose not seeing braces. It's very interesting.

And so that's one of the cool things. You get the smile you want, and you don't have to show the braces here at Richter Orthodontics.

Maintain Your Lifestyle & Appearance With Lingual Orthodontics
We use a revolutionary system called Inbrace. Its slim-fit brackets and wires are bonded to the back of your teeth and completely hidden away. The obvious advantage of lingual orthodontics is that no one will know you’re wearing braces unless you tell them. Inbrace also offers these benefits you won’t experience with other kinds of lingual braces:Behind the Teeth Braces
- Fewer Adjustments – Inbrace Smartwires use Gentleforce, a customized technology that moves your teeth with precision and comfort. Since the wires are designed for your unique smile, you won’t need as many adjustments during treatment.
- More Comfort – Instead of elastic ties to attach wires to brackets, Inbrace uses small clips. This makes initial placement and later adjustments quicker, easier, and more comfortable.
- Easier Oral Hygiene – Inbrace uses smaller brackets than other brands of lingual braces, which makes it easier to brush. The wires also incorporate loops in between teeth so flossing is easier too.
This discreet option corrects the same kind of issues that standard braces can fix, realigning teeth and bites that don’t line up the way they’re supposed to. Because they’re placed on the inside of teeth, it may not be ideal if you have small teeth or severe malocclusion. At your initial consultation, we’ll examine your mouth, bite, and teeth position to see if you’re a good candidate.
